I voted GS-1000. I owned a pair of RS-1's and I prefer the the GS1k to the RS-1 by a substatial margin. Ive unfortunately never heard the PS-1's. They seem to be the phone of Grado choice now and the recent intro of the GS1k's really seemed to help the sales of PS-1's and RS-2's for some odd reason. So, if you are buying and looking for a PS-1, expect to shell out some major bucks.

I had a chance to try all three this past weekend.

For me, the GS1000 was pretty disappointing. Of course it was at a meet so I didn't have a lot of time to audition, and the conditions weren't ideal (lot's of ambient noise), but nevertheless I was still disappointed. There were by far the most comfortable Grados I've ever tried.

The RS-1's and PS-1's, now that's a hard decision. They are both excellent. I think the PS-1 had the edge in the bottom octaves, lots of nice tight bass.

But for me the deciding factor I think is comfort. The PS-1's were a LOT heavier than I anticipated.

I voted for the RS-1's. Really great cans.

PS-1 for me. The only Grado I've liked well enough to keep and I've heard 'em all except the RS-2 and HP-1.

prefer gs1000 to rs1. it has the full-ness that rs1 lacks. to me, it sounds like rs1+hd650 in one set..

i haven't heard ps1 so no vote for me..

I voted GS-1000 only because of soundstage, but if the PS-1 had GS-1000 soundstage, I would prefer it.

The RS-1 would be right up there with them on certain music, and frankly the 225's would be only slightly behind. And, you have more money in your pocket than me

Exactly... I own GS1k + HD650 and have owned RS-1 and think it's an accurate assessment.
Also, as cantsleep mentioned, not hearing the PS-1, I realize that I too, probably shouldnt have voted. At least understand that I think GS>RS. There is a good chance that if I heard the PS that PS>GS>RS.

I got rid of my RS-1 to buy a W5000 without ever hearing them. Breaking the seal hurts resale, doncha know.

I've now heard or owned just about every Grado except for the PS-1s. I like the GS-1000s much more than the RS-1s. There is one catch though: with the type of music I listen to most often, I prefer the GS-1000s with bowls instead of the Stock 'bagel' pads.

IMO, GS-1000 with bowls sounds very much like RS-1, with some extended highs and lows.. it's more like 'RS-1 supercharged'

it's fair if you haven't heard the ps-1's to vote... i think alot of people are voting for the rs-1's without hearing the ps-1's so...

Really for me the decision is between the PS-1 and the RS-1. I like the GS-1000, but find the older two more my taste. As between the PS-1 and the RS-1, I think the RS-1 is more special, but never felt the need to buy one, while I have bought the PS-1. Given the choice again, I would again buy the PS-1 and don't feel the need to buy a RS-1. Dunno quite why.

But if you're considering a PS-1, aren't you able to acquire a HP1000? I prefer the HP1000 over the PS-1 and RS-1, though again, each are special cans with their own merits. Without living with each its hard to know which will suit you best.

Where's the HP1000 in this poll? It's not a complete list of high-end Grado list without them, and they are my favorite Grado that I've heard.
