Some black paint has chipped off one of the cups on my RS-1's. Is it easy to paint it myself? I hate to return them just for this. They're just starting to burn in. Thanks for any help.

If you are complaining about that, you should see the wood chip off mine when I accidentally stepped on it.

I use a small bottle of gloss black enamel model paint (Testors) to touch up the paint chips on the black grill of my MS-Pro. Use a toothpick to apply. It looks brand new.

The right voice coil on my RS-1s blew.

Did you keep your receipt?

Did you register those headphones?

Did you retain the original package?

Hope you did all of those. And keep in mind that only authorized Grado dealers should do warranty service.

Final question: Are the headphones still under warranty?

Grab yourself a black magic marker. Apply little dabs.

I'm surprised no one asked if it improved the sound and if you wouldnt mind stepping on their phones if it did.

LOL. I barely use it anyways. IN FACT, the chip actually made it lighter and the bass tightness improved..
