Also check out the creative aurvana lives. Way cheaper than the D1001k and sound/feels almost identical from what I've read. Are supposed to be extraordinarily comfortable as well.

The JVC HA-M750 is also ok if you like square and black: http://addons.books.com.tw/G/N00/t/6...78216_t_04.jpg

The Sennheiser 448 is quite nice and isn't as big as you might think from the pics, while still being circumaural: http://img.custompublish.com/getfile...iserHD_448.jpg

The Sony MDR XB500 mighttt float your boat, depending on your style. I personally think they look quite nice, and seem nicely build, but the pads are really big(though not as huge as those on the 700). That could be a plus or minus. These are the 700s: http://cfs11.tistory.com/image/5/tis.../496579bbc3881

The 500s: http://reviews.sonystyle.com/5050/84190/photo.jpg

These are all black and silver though. Sorry I can't think of anything circumaural that's colorful XD.

Thanks for all those specific choices. Out of all those I think I like the Creatives and the 500s the best, but the 500s look a little too big. To everyone recommending the A700s, I like the look of these very much, but they also look a little too big.

ATH-SQ5
ATH-SJ5
ATH-SJ3
Creative Aurvana Live!

How would you rank these four headphones? If anyone has any of these headphones, it'd be great if you could give me just a brief description of the quality in terms of comfortability, durability and sound.

Thank you all

The ATH-A700 would not be a good portable choice, they are massive and the wing system is comfortable, but looks dumb. They also sport a 10 ft. cord.

Not piano black, at all.

I do really think the ATH-SQ5, and ATH-SJ5 would be your best bet, as they both seem to have good reviews on here. It would just come down to a personal preference as the styling of the two are completely different.

I like the look of most of the audio-technicas. The ES7s would be great, except that they're on ear. What are good closed over the ear headphones from audio technica for under 150?

ATH-M50's. And while the ES7's sound okay, they are the most uncomfortable headphones I have EVER used. The pads are thin and uncomfortable, the drivers actually touch your ears, and the band is hard rubber, too. Build quality isn't great, either.

I've also used the RP-HTX7's. They're good headphones, for the price.

Sure they do, but not the peacock struttin' style that's the MS400 (especially of the red/black flavor). M50 is more industrial. Not saying it's bad. Just a whole different thing going on.

Let's get it straight for OP:

MS400 = SEXEH.

M50 = BADASS.

Different stuffs they are...

Style introduces a whole other dimension of subjectivity beyond just individual tastes in SQ...:p

Honestly I love my CAL! for on the go use, but to me the HD-25's look stylish too (whereas people would kills me for thinking the double headband looks attractive).
