I've been looking and I see a lot of new for 175-200 bucks. I want to know if I can do better, since my go to, Amazon doesn't sell them.

I just purchased a pair in great shape from ebay shipped for $140.00. I saw a Canadian seller on kajiji.ca in Toronto selling a pair of DT 770 250ohms for about the same price.

You can do better only if you are willing to buy used. Take a look at the F/S forum.

You'd have to buy used. I got my DT770/80 for $85 used.

I looked here in the FS forum first for a few days. There were none at the time or I would have supported head-fiers first anyday of the week. I think I did see one set, but they were 250ohm and I was purchasing for portable so I was seeking the 80ohm version. Head-fi first, ebay as last resort, although I suspect many head-fi members run ads concurrently in both places.

There was a couple of them on the F/S forum by the end of Jan. You have to keep checking, they fly.

Beyerdynamic USA sometimes will sell DT770 refurbs on eBay, believe their seller name is bd-usa.
 
The Superlux HD660 is a low cost knock off of the DT770, check eBay.
