The A161P are single-button and mic-capable, the TRRS adapter helps with compatibility, but the Ion doesn't seem to be listed there. Another thing that might get iffy is the fact that bass isn't accentuated very much, there's a slight mid-bass bump but overall it's extremely balanced, not sure if that would fit your criteria regarding bass (although the quality is quite nice, tight and punchy). 
 
Could also look at the X10i, ample bass, if that doesn't get you there...The remote is an Apple 3-button deal but usually the pause/play one works out anyways.
