These guys offered custom made orders, just send them a message. I didn’t get any answer on my last question so I hold off the order ATM. Maybe any of you could pick the order up?

Would love some angled deeper pads for these!

Their price seemed to be the same as their offerings at 120mm ≈ 38 USD

I had problems with alibaba translation but hope maybe anyone of you could help!

What does he mean by this?

The brainwavz xl are 110mm by 110mm and need to be stretched to fit the GL2000s, I think ideally you'd want pad height of 115-120m. They don't need as much width
110 fits easy. 105 will be tight but should still fit. With some elbow grease. In most cases, flange needs to be trimmed.

First post on Head-Fi. Finally had to make an account for these headphones.

Five days into owning the GL2000. They are like really spicy, really good Thai food. An assault on the senses but I keep coming back for more.

They are physically painful for me. Like, after listening for a few hours I have a wicked headache. I've been putting them on pink noise sweeps and music all night long trying to get them to burn in to be less... harsh?

But it's not harsh-ness. It's something different.

I've been running them mostly though my BTR5 because it's my only balanced amp right now. I've also ran them on my AD18 which is ok. And my Douk P1 Hybrid which is unlistenable. So incredibly painful.

I bought them on Amazon so I could return them but I don't want to... because when I go listen to other headphones I'm disanointed, but these headaches are real.

Do I have a defective pair or are the amps I'm running them with inadequate?

I run mine with a Schiit Jotunheim and they work well. They sound pretty smooth with the solid leather pads. I haven't tried them via a BTR5, but I did try them with a Sound BlasterX G6 which provides more power than the BTR5... They sounded bad. I think these can be one of those amp dependant headphones.

I've tested mine with a variety of pads, including Brainwavz suede cooling gel pads. Easily the best sounding pad was the ZMF Universe Perforated Lambskin. It's a tight fit though. I'd be interested to hear the ZMF Eikon version of the pad on there (it's a bit larger in diameter). I found the best result was with a pad that had an oval ear shape, but was not too big around the ears, or it caused the bass to bloom and bleed in to the mids. Probably why the perforated pads that come with it sounds better than the oval leather.

P.s. ZMF suede made highs a bit sharp

I felt the same originally, but trying other pads made me realise the standard oval cause a slight bloom in the bass and recess the vocals. Not drastically, but I didn't notice it until I went back from trying the ZMF. Still sounds great with them though, no denying that.
After so many mods tryouts and dozen of pad swaps, it’s hard to keep accurate recollection for each change that was made. I just remember that sound with D shape perforated pads never agreed with me. But it’s perfectly reasonable to hear others preferring that presentation. Gamers gels is what I settled on at the moment. It’s a personal choice. Glad you like ZMF pads. If I come across cheap pair somewhere, I’ll give them a try.
