Hi all, I've just joined the GL2000 club. I have to say these are really impressive for the price! I did notice they are really amp dependant. They sound fantastic with my Schiit Jotunheim (with multibit DAC card), they sounded like trash from a Sound BlasterX G6. I've seen comments about nasally vocals, and I can only think this is down to bad pairings as that was one of the major difference between the G6 and the Jotunheim (along with bass presence). The vocals are really nice through the Jotunheim.
I run them with Loxjie D30 + Topping A90, only way to get rid of nasally is to EQ it unfortunatelyHi all, I've just joined the GL2000 club. I have to say these are really impressive for the price! Removing 2 layers of tuning paper (left the plastic’y on for protection) on the outside of the driver, did remove the nasal vocals for me. I also use crinacle’s EQ with extra improvised bass boost. The EQ made some difference but I’m not quite sure what. Sounds good without eq also, use no eq when I listen to flac files, and usb audio player with eq on tidal.

Me personally I don't like the D shapped pads at all- I prefer the stock pads paired with my Apache Amp-I love the sound signature with most of my music and find bass satisfying for what these are- I am impressed over all for price... my humble review- https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/gold-planar-gl2000-open-back.24993/

I'm loving mine - I eventually settled on the suede gaming pads from Brainwavz which fit decently after snipping off a little bit of the lining. I liked the sound with the stock leather pads as well, but the fit was a bit off and the brainwavz sit better on my head. I should have a Flux Labs FA-12S delivered tomorrow, so looking to try them out on a class A ampHow’s everyone liking the gl2000 now?

105mm should do it.

The brainwavz xl are 110mm by 110mm and need to be stretched to fit the GL2000s, I think ideally you'd want pad height of 115-120m. They don't need as much width
