Has any long time headfier had the fortune to compare the GL2000s to something like The Sennheiser HE60s (Baby Orpheus)?

does anyone know how much it costs for driver repair for the GL2000 that is no longer in warranty?

Hey all,
Can you point to potential mods? Right now, I prefer the Anandas and was disappointed in these, even balanced and with the D pads. I felt Ananda is clearer with better bass and stage. If the Gl200 has more potential I'd like to exploit that

Just FYI for anyone interested in purchasing a pair. I'm pretty sure I got one of the good models as I had no issues with the sound signature.

Hi, I've joined the club!
First feelings etc. First planar for me, purchased used in the UK, D pads and stock 4.4mm cable. Coming from Sony Z7 and Z1R, my impression initially was of a dry and stark sound, nice stage, placement of instruments spot on, gave them a good session with several genres via media centre on PC through Sony TA-Z1HAES DAC/Amp. These are very recording dependent I feel, so I gave all a good wipe and leather clean and swapped to the leather pads, this is my preferred signature. Next I used the stock Z1R balanced 4.4mm silver plated copper cable, and again its a sound I prefer. Its going to be a late night!

These are amazing phones I just put zmf cowhide oval pads on them and I much prefer these over the stock pads by far bass got better and tighter plus it is actually memory foam now I use a Ifi zen stack for my amp dac setup and a little bump from peace gui/Apo it’s heavenly for music and gaming very much over kill but think about how people spend thousands on a good screen and graphics but buy a crappy 50$ gaming headset that sounds like trash this stuff here is a game changer literally

Thanks for your feedback! If I may ask, was this your first such an audio setup? Or were there any standalone DACs and amps before it?

Just received the GL2000 (double magnet). Intial impressions - they remind me of the Ananda, but with more details in mids with better separation.
Will report back after breaking in. So far very impressed for its price point!

Had been listening to them for about 100hrs ( not including burn-in), they really gets better as time goes by.
I do prefer the leather earpad as compared to the perforated ones for more bass slam.

How's everyone enjoying their gl2000's? Are the sheepskin pads from aliexpress still considered to be the best pads for these?

Hells bells! Connected up using my re-terminated Norne Audio Draug Silver.
Day and night. Huge improvements across the board. The GL's are more of a keeper now.
So... headphone cables can make a difference, can they ?

Unless you are hard of hearing, 100%.
Stock 4.4mm in comparison is closed in, vocals nasally. Small soundstage with much less texture to drum decay and strings especially bass guitar. Soundstage is now very wide of the phones, whereas stock is held between the ears.
But hey, these are my ears, i only know the information they send to my brain.
For me, silver improves every phone/ iem i own, generally it is far from subtle.

Your brain can make a difference. Brain burn in is definitely real. I'm not certain about cables, but to each their own.So... headphone cables can make a difference, can they ?
