Ya the stock cable for the included price on the GK10 is really not bad. But it a bit basic but otherwise I have seen much worse from much more expensive earphones thats for certain.
I'm not much of a cable person but I'd switch them just to try balanced output. Maybe a KBEAR rhyme or so. If the stock cable is comfortable enough then I'd definitely never switch them.

Stock cable is comfortable but just isn't satisfying to handle, and as you say, not balanced.

Hello everyone,

Since GK10 has been updated to 8-share cable, the price will increase slightly.

Newest preproduction batch. These plates look more marbleish. Lighting is terrible here will have to take better pics during the day time but these two shells are different colored. The left piece has some purple tones in it. Looks great.

New upgraded 8 core SPC cable. Someone's been reading this thread. New batches of the GK10 will include this cable. Why does that make a difference you may ask. Because unless you want to go balanced out. These cables are a clear upgrade from their previous included cables. Not only do they match up extremely well with the tuning of the GK10 but it actually enhances it.

I tested both previous and new cable here on my well burned in set of GK10. This new cable enhances spacial perception as the GK10 sounds larger with added depth and fullness to the GK10 sound. GK10 sounds more bigger with an uptick in the body of sound. I am actually surprised such a good cable is going to be now included in the newest batches of the GK10.

So for folks that are on the fence to get a GK10 now, you have even more reason to get one. The value which was as you guys know was already over the top just for the sound quality alone but even better with this cable. These guys are just giving their fans more reason to get another one. Lol.

I think it applies to the new preorders from this point and moving forward. There had to be a cut off. But you might have gotten a newer version. Won't know till you get it.

The previous stock cable is not a fail by any means. Most folks will not be able to tell much of a difference. My perception of the two cables are from switching back and forth about 4 times. The perceivable enhancements are subtle and does not go from one sound completely to a new one. Cable changes unless your going higher end do not make a leap in sonic character Again it is subtle but noticeable hearing the same tracks. It is an upgrade from the previous cables but no need to worry if your missing out if you already got the older version.

By the way the newer version had some slight treble grain which confirms that the GK10 does require burn in. My well used burned in set does not have that so it shows they benefit from run in when they are new.

I mean is not the end of the world, especially since I have another cable available, I was just wondering since I was so close to the cut off time and I was part of the preorder.

I just enquired about the preorder colour selection available, received a superspeed reply! Unfortunately it seems that only the blue option is available for preorders at this point in time
