I can't say, I've never heard the DROP version. But each time I can listen to the original TH-900 (one chap at our office has a pair and once in a while takes it with him) I have a big smile on my face
The Drop TR-X00’s are based on the TH-610’s ( but don’t quote me on that) and the TH-900 is a much better IMO . Much better detail and the mids are a bit more forward than the X00’s and maybe a bit brighter maybe that’s why I think it has more detail but still think that it does. The bass is tighter just a more refined headphone but still as @iFi audio said a fun headphone.

Both of them! I havent listened to them yet so i’d have to see how each sounded to me with my ears and my brain but I see them both recommended alllll the time in my research. I think the modhouse argons are a bit more popular.
Best bass I've heard. A massive living breathing entity, quite separate from the rest of the rest of the sound and doesn't intrude on other frequencies . Only rears it's head when the music requires it.

Oh of course, also consider the v moda m-100’s, those are fun (the original ones). They are heavy though but you can really mangle the headband to conform to your head.
