From Senn 600's to AKG 701s ...........

The hd600's and 701 are entirely different in their sound signature. It's not really a matter of better, but different and what you prefer. For myself, I would never trade my hd600's for the AKG701, but then I've never been a AKG fan either. The only AKG that I've ever found that I have liked is the K1000, that headphone is in a special class.

I just happened to listened to both this morning before work. When comparing the two, I always put the k701's on and say wow these sound great, then after 1-2 songs start to get bored with them. Then I put the Senn HD600's on and several songs later remind myself that I'm comparing and not just listening for pleasure since they just seem to suck me into the music - while the K701's leave me analyzing the sound.

I prefer the 600 to the 650 also.

Il have a 701 since one month and I'm very satisfied. They are plays continuously during 400hrs. 701 matches very well with my Original Master headamp and my NAD S500i cd player. The NIN " Donward the spiral " never sound so good. Lots of informations and details. Material sound. Musical and never hard to listen.

I have a great pleasure to listen any kind of music with these cans.
