I found what appears to be a great alternative to the Labtec mic for about the same price. It is specifically designed to be attached to headphones. Here it is: http://www.amazon.com/AntLion-ModMic-Attachable-Boom-Microphone/dp/B005IT9P3G/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1328469939&sr=8-5

Here is the manufacturer's website that has some more info on the microphone: http://www.modmic.com

If you are lucky sometimes you can find the labtec cheap, but on top of that the industrial strength velcro isn't super cheap.

I have a modmic and it is really nice if your goal is to get a mic attached to your headphones.

I know this thread is old but I just thought I'd mention that I found the Labtec LVA-7330 for $15.00 USD (~$16.32 CAD, shipping included) on Ebay today. Planning to apply this mod to my AD700's and then use the setup on my Xbox 360.

Hope this doesn't count as reviving a dead thread, sorry if it does...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271793372669?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 cheaper than amazon same thing tho. i did the same thing to my technicas but i had the cords a little neater lol. surprisingly the mic is better than my trittons and yeti. with gaming headsets you usually just pay for the logo and alright sound. got the lva-7330 for $16 but they dropped the price to like 13 ish
