Found a Headphone called "Marantz SD-5" in my Dad's garage

Hi, last weekend when i was cleaning my dad's garage.i came across a pair of headphone.It is called "Marantz SD-5".
my dad' told me this headphone was considered pretty expensive back before i was born.
surprisingly, after some fix on the plug, this headphone still sounds pretty good to my ear.
Does any one know this particular headphone or history? just curious a headphone that is older than me and can still produce nice sound.

I own a few headphones that are older than me, and several of them sound excellent.
 
Those look pretty bulky, which would make me worry that there might be those big ugly paper cone drivers in there.
