Anyone a fan of Yes? Listen to Tales From Topographic Oceans and enjoy it very much with the TH-X00

Still looking for one of these since I missed out on the drop. I think they will be a very good complement to my Enigmas.

BTW, why has nobody tried the ZMF pads yet? They have cowhide, lambskin, and protein pleather pads. While the lambskin pads aren't the exact same as the Alpha pads, I'm pretty sure they will have a similar sound sig.

Got my set today! These things look gorgeous! One of my cups has quite an obvious change in the direction of the grain (see first pic) but I love it! Gives them character, and makes them one of a kind, which is awesome.

I have only listened to them for about an hour so far, but loving them so far! The bass on these things is insane. Almost too much to be honest, and I consider myself a bass head!
Not sure if running these directly out of my PC with an Asus Xonar DX (100ohms out) has anything to do with this, I really do need to purchase an amp/dac combo suited to the low impedance.

Looking forward to spending more time listening to them, and hearing the *potential* improvements as they burn in!

Edit: My Serial is 1481 btw!

^ Got my headphones as well! I guess all us Perth people got it today, so glad after waiting for so long.  I got 1945 for mine.  Will be posting pics once I transfer them from my phone

Here's mine

I've ordered me a Gustard H10 and the Burson V5 opamps, and must admit I'm also a bit curios about the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro as well...can't stop now

The DT 1350 for $160 is pretty insane when it was on sale a couple weeks ago

These cans are in a desperate need of a cablectomy. No way I could use them on the go like this as the plug might damage Mojo's port. Anyone could recommend a 3.5mm plug chunky enough to take that elephant dick like Fostex cable? I'm thinking shortening it to 1.2m and terminate the rest with a female 3.5mm plug.

Well it makes it less likely to break when plugging into a 1/8

Helps a bit, not a lot since the cables thickness consumes a lot of the volume

Asks which amp would be preferable but already knew his answer... huh

What makes sense and what is truth are often at odds. That is there is likely another factor here...

For example, when I said (in another thread) that I did not think the TH-X00 sounded good with my Vali 2, people immediately responded - but, the Vali 2 isn't rolled off like many tubes. And I agree that it is not rolled off, nor does it have an impedance mismatch. It's something else that makes me dislike the pairing.

Someone wrote in the past few posts - tube decay? Are tubes generally a little slower than solid state? I dunno...my point is the question is/was valid, to ask.
