Has anyone tried this? Just a thought is all dont know about the dimensions of either also. Just checking to see if it does work and the sound difference if any.

Thoughts?

Why would you put ear pads from a $2000 headphone on a $400 d5000? Yeah they look like nice pads and all but jeez just the pads would cost more than the whole D5000! It's like putting rims on a geo metro :p

You're saying this on a forum where people invest hundreds of hours into the Fostex TP50rp and a fair amount of money. The forum the where people put 100 cables on 30 dollar headphones. Welcome to Head-fi where modders are born and wallets come to die.

Hahaha you make an exceptional point sir. I now understand how rediculous my previous statement was. Please excuse my ignorance...

I admit your response made me laugh heartily.

What's the goal of putting the TH900 pads on them? To get a higher quality or real-leather pad?

I'm just asking because I haven't seen the TH900 pads available for sale separately, but know of a few third party manufacturers who make leather pads for the D5000 (J$ Audio and Lawton Audio come to mind), and they cost about the same as the Denon factory replacements.

Oh, and no idea about the TH900 pads + D5000s - sorry. :xf_eek:

Yes, they do fit.

I'm putting them back on my TH900s now, I can't imagine what Fostex would charge for a new pair if I somehow damaged them.

To the TH900 owners,
I just want you all to know I hate every last one of you for being able to afford my dream headphone and not throwing any spare cash my way! I think I would have to sell almost all my audio just to afford that! I could sell my PC as well and get it but GD that is one pricey headphone! In any case, I still hate you all.
