Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and too audiophile, I'd bought a TH900 headphones and would like some advice if i can for amp and source.
Currently I have HiFiman601 that is not good choice for TH900.
I see recommendations for Burson Conductor and V200 Violectric.
My General use will be classical music, near PC, so DAC+amp could be good combination for source also.
The Burston Condactor have DAC, Preamp and amp, where the amp is the same as in Soloist.
But I see that many prefer V200 vs Soloist.
What can you advice? I whould preffer once to buy and not upgrade. Have you any better recommendations for DAC and Amp with TH900?
The proposed stuff if it's possible to be in comparison with V200 for my reference.
The HiFiman601 have line-out, could it be as source or to forget about one?

If you can stretch to it I would highly recommend the Eximus DP1.  It is a DAC+amp and it has fantastic synergy with the TH900's.  I did a longer post on them earlier in this thread.

Sorry, haven't heard both. I've heard the V200, but not the WA7. For what you are looking for, the WA7 seems like a good candidate based off reviews. The V200 is good, but not worth the 1200$ or whatever it MSRPs for. If you can land one used at around 700, that is pretty good amp.

Here's my spanner into the mix that may upset some brand snobs. Not that long ago I auditioned Burson ha-160, Grace M90? 2or3, and Fostex HP-A8C up against my Asus Essence One/DIY Muses Edition, all of which are great sounding dac/amp combos paired with the TH900

Overall "SQ alone" I preferred E1 Muses, I could not say its excellent in any area, like how the Burson is with its refined deeper bass, but if I had to sum it up I would say a very good all rounder. side note pairs well with the GS-X mk2. Which out of these dac's only the E1 and grace have balanced XLR out

Unfortunately the E1 has some build quality issues mainly with the standard edition, which I would not recommend. the issue is with alpha B10k volume potentiometers they are just totally awful channel balance, left channel is louder than right and changers every time you turn it off and on, so you always have to adjust the balance in windows and use a plug-in to adjust in Foobar running ASIO

However the Muses Edition doesn't have this problem even though it users a similar Alpha potentiometer, old = B10k, new = A10k

So to make it very clear only the Asus Essence One Muses Edition, SQ alone is what I would recommend over the the above dac's

How come it could be sold at $1200. As I know its $999 shipped US wide, or even cheaper if you could get a deal directly from Lake People.

Sweet set up.  I'm glad the -dB has been updated.  I didn't like it but I was one of the early buyers.  Maybe a lesson in that.  Still considering the TH-600.  Still waiting for a US company to drop the price to match the ones coming out of Japan but may eventually just break down and get one from PriceJapan.

Wangus looks interest as well.  Studio level.

Thank you WNBC
if you have already Fostex TH 900 and you want buy TH 600 is very good for your collection.
Now I am very happy with Fostex TH 900, I don't want buy TH 600.

Which class -dB did you bought ?
If you said as earlier buyer , could be you have first version with very low output voltage
1,21 Vrms ,

I have two the second version 1,69 Vrms
And the latest version 2,00 Vrms to match the output from old lass solo.

SQ the 1,69 Vrms and 2.00 Vrms is much better than 1,21 Vrms , to low for high impendance headphone , the 1,21 Vrms I didn't like too

Got recommendations  for Woo Audio WA7 - price 1100$. Assume the below stuff for double price are at another level?
Which of set-up will be better: Eximus DP1 or V200+V800? The price of V200+V800=2100$, The Eximus DP1 - were to buy? Found only at ebay from South Korea for 2780$

There's someone on the FS forums selling one BNIB for $2500 - http://www.head-fi.org/t/627504/april-music-eximus-dp1-factory-sealed-free-world-wide-shipping

I would personally go with the V200+V800 between the two. I liked the DP1, but the amp section is very limited. It didn't sound very good with any high impedance or low sensitivity phones I tried with it (LCD-3, HD800, T1). You can tell that the DP1 was designed around its DAC section. The amp section was secondary and it is clearly lacking with some headphones.

I have the TH-600.  Looking to make a move to the TH-900.
I had the 2nd version that was 1.69 vrms.  It wasn't terrible but I wasn't hearing the SQ that has been praised by original CLAS Solo owners.

Quick question: Do most of you keep the blue wrap around the 1/4" plug on your TH900s? I do but I'm not sure why, but wondering what your reasons are.

Just wanted to derail the thread a little.

That's like people who keep plastic sheeting over there furniture, I really don't understand this behavior other than they don't believe there worthy enough to enjoy it
