Anyone gotten their hands on the onyx model? I tried the classic MK2 reds and even with the yaxi pads the highs were killing me. Otherwise I loved everything else about it. I was curious if those pads on the anniversary tuning would be a good fit to smooth out the top end. I see folks say it’s supposed to be tuned to mellow out the top but all of the graphs suggest it’s has higher peaks than the reds so I am confused 🙃

The A.T. highs are the same as the reds; in fact, the headphone is even brighter overall because the mid-bass is toned down and you get more presence in the high-mids. If the reds were too piercing for you I would stay away.

Appreciate the input and confirming what I suspected. Absolutely loved the stage of the cans and that bass. Attempted a few days burn in with them which I think lowered the highs a bit but not enough to point I could only listen to them for a short period :frowning2: unless someone knows of another alternative, may need to look back at the Z1R.

Totaly price prohibitive, but a Lawton fully moded th900 sounds warm to me. Still a huge V but that’s what you get with th900

I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up before, but they look quite beautiful at night where small reflections come off them in a really pleasing liquid way. For instance, rgb lights from PC ram or a small lamp in your room. They are little mirrors and it looks cool
