I have bought a second hand Denon d7200 for 350€, cheaper than a 5200, my favourite open back is the 325x so it's better for me an all-around closed
Anyone gotten their hands on the onyx model? I tried the classic MK2 reds and even with the yaxi pads the highs were killing me. Otherwise I loved everything else about it. I was curious if those pads on the anniversary tuning would be a good fit to smooth out the top end. I see folks say it’s supposed to be tuned to mellow out the top but all of the graphs suggest it’s has higher peaks than the reds so I am confused
Appreciate the input and confirming what I suspected. Absolutely loved the stage of the cans and that bass. Attempted a few days burn in with them which I think lowered the highs a bit but not enough to point I could only listen to them for a short period unless someone knows of another alternative, may need to look back at the Z1R.The A.T. highs are the same as the reds; in fact, the headphone is even brighter overall because the mid-bass is toned down and you get more presence in the high-mids. If the reds were too piercing for you I would stay away.
Hawaiian koaWhich cups did you get for yours?
Why not a Denon 9200?Appreciate the input and confirming what I suspected. Absolutely loved the stage of the cans and that bass.
