That it's the only thing that is "better", when i listen to the TH900 it's clear that is on another level for everything that is not mid-bass quanityty... and i don't want 2 can that is quite similar
I really love the TH900 but the one thing that I can't really comprehend is that I've read tons of reviews, opinions, comments and it seems that I'm the only one with a TH900 with less bass compared to the TH600.
The soundstage, definition, and brightness are all there but the bass is not even comparable and is really thin, the modded TH900 as expected is on par with the TH600.
And the worst thing is that without the bass it becomes a lot more bright by contrast.
Can be the burn in?
I don't know how long you've had and listened to your stock TH900, but, if you have been used to the overly mid bassy TH600 maybe it will take a while to get used to the signature of the stock TH900.
The longer I have been interested in high end audio the more I appreciate a more neutral, more treble, less bassy signature.
I use the schiit Loki tone control for my 900’s. It works great with them. I set the 20hz knob at 1:00 for even a little more sub bass, and the 400hz knob about 2:00 for more midbass/lower midrange. Sounds good to me that way.
Haven’t listened to my th900’s for about 3 weeks. Soon as I put them on, I am instantly reminded why I bought them. They are truly a pleasurable and unique set of cans!
