Pulled the trigger on these a little over a week ago.  Initial impressions out of the box were so so,  even though I have been craving some TH-900 love for quite a while.
 
They just kind of underwhelmed me unfortunately.  Fast forward one week later and I absolutely adore them.  The resolution, PRaT and all that good stuff has fallen into place.  The Sig Pros are feeling a tad lonely now,  not to mention the HD-800 lol.
 
One concern I do have is hardware related ( I know its been discussed countless times in this thread ). 
 
It appears that my right cup hanger suffers from play or movement if a slight pressure is applied.
 
Audiowood posted a while back on a proper technique into removing the cup to gain access to the tiny under hinge screw to tighten http://www.head-fi.org/t/595683/fostex-th900-impressions-discussion-thread/2790#post_9006193.  Followed his directions to a tee,  however what I noticed was that the screw was tight to begin with and required no further adjustment.
 
I am wondering how many TH-900 owners out there are living with the same issue.  I realize the TH-900 seems like the type of hp you definitely need to baby.  I recall AnakChans hanger failure some time ago,  would have thought that almost two years Fostex would have cured the whole D5000 / D7000 loose screw,  fragile cup assembly thing  http://www.head-fi.org/t/595683/fostex-th900-impressions-discussion-thread/2640#post_8955811 
 
Not to mention a few owners where cups would just fall off out of the blue.
 
Please chime in with your thoughts / experiences.  Just live with it? what ye thinks?

Mine are fairly loose on both cups. If I push down the rings will make contact with the plastic lower part of the headband. I also opened them up to tighten them, but was still obstructed by the driver assembly, so I could not get the right angle I needed without risking destroying the screw. Flexible screwdrivers seem completely useless, no power or grip. It was a stressful experience lining up the cups back with the drivers, those tiny screw threads in the wood felt like they wouldn't last another disassembly. I figure I'll either send them back to Fostex if the cups fall off or have a watchmaker/repairer see if they can tighten them with their tiny specialist screwdrivers. I want to completely redo the cup attachment arrangement; tiny metal screws into naked wood, what were Fostex thinking?:mad:

I'm just glad they still sound as good as ever. The looseness of the cup rings hasn't gotten worse over the last 7-8 months and I regularly check them to make sure.

The way I did it is that you don't have to remove the screws that are touching wood. Just remove the earpads and underneath that there are 4 (not the ones deep inside the slots, but the ones that are flat on the surface - image) screws on that side. Unscrewing those will remove the cup and driver still together.

When I read this post, I gingerly moved both cups and both seem to have the same play without any hint of looseness. Hope it stays this way.

LOL, i should emphasise that one cup has a VERY small amount of extra movement. There is no obvious "looseness" in the headphones during normal use. Still, it doesn't hurt to be gentle. In saying that I really baby my headphones so it could just be me being pedantic.

It really does seem that this is something we can live with as long as they are well treated and loved. 
 
Must admit though that it seems that Fostex dropped the ball in this area of design.

supposed to return from the repair tomorrow (after a month wait).

Or could it be that the DAP he heard is on first? Who's on first? exactly , What's on second? because we know Who's on first. Therefore Who and What are both on third as mentioned earlier
