TH900 has the immediate wow factor. T1 is a good all-rounder.

Th-900 has the wow factor indeed but saying only that is doint it great injustice. After the wow is over it has a lot more to offer and the bond get stronger and stronger. With an LA-900 even more.
IMO Beyer has the "B" of boring. Get a Senn 650 or 800 instead if you're looking for something to complement the Fostex.
Or a SEM1, AT-woodie , ... so many better choices than a dull flat and neutral T1. Reminds me of the K701, just as dull unless paired with a really good tube amp that imparts it's character on the phone, some far from a neutral amp.

On a related note I am sometimes finding my th900 to be occasionally harsh...and I do use the T1. Did anyone find any changes with burn/brain in.

You mean a bit bright in the highs?
Some mentioned that and they also found it got better with brain/burn in.
I never had a problem with it but the little I might have noticed about it is not present in the LA-900. Ask Whazzup.

What dac and amp are you using?

It is true, and the only thing that can help with it is the Foam discs placements and positions from my EZ mod thread. Further improving it would be upgrading cables and a bit more :D

You can also try to pair it with warmer gears as well as upgrading the cups from Lawton mods. There are a lot of possibilities

It isn't true for everyone or on all specimen.
Your mod is certainly not the only cure.
Cables to improve it is just silly. A better cable will giive you more detail than you already have. If you have sibilance you will get more of it with a decent cable. If you don't the cable isn't good.
Lawton mods are meant to be used as a complete set, I've tried since D7000 and using only one of the three parts gives worse reults than stock. You need the bigger cups (wood choice doesn't matter), dampening and thicker angled pads. The cable is optional but very good (Jena) and ehances detail.

Hi I don't have the budget for the TH-900s.. Should I get the T1 gen2s?

Thanks!

I don't have the budget for a ferrari, should I get a Fiat instead? It's also italian.
Now, buy a Fostex used and bargain for the price if you really want one. Or a Fostex TH-xxx instead.

Hmm interesting. I do think the ifi iCAN may not be helping. Been seriously looking at the Bursons. I think the Lawton may be an eventuality as well.

Very hard to say. I love both dearly lol. T1 g2 got some extra bass...but in fact the late gen T1.1 is splendid.

I can get a new pair of T1 gen 2s for about 657 Euros.. The TH900s cost about 1260 Euros... Are they so much better than the T1s?

I don't think the T1s gen 2s is a Fiat..

What do you think?

As I posted earlier today I find the T1 boring and flat. I wouldn't spend my money on it.
I just edit my post since I misread and thought you wanted a T1. Get a used TH-900 and bargain on the price or get a TH-600 or TH-X000 massdrop version used or not. Those go for 400 or below if I remember right. Sure there are a few for sale here.
