You have me thinking though. I did some critical listening tonight and I have decided that silver is the way to go. But I need 15ft., so I'll just go the cheap route now and get the silver next year. If I get high-end Copper I'll just end up replacing it in a year anyway. So I'll get headroom to change the stock cable and get an extension. That will give me some time to get to know one cable very well and I'll know for myself how much difference a cable can make.

Don't know if any of you know Deco 27.

But I think that's the TH900s?

Interesting. When I buy the ragnarok I'm going to mod my th900 to a balanced cable too. I'm considering the silver Dragon, the Norne vanquish, and headroom will put a 4-pin xlr on the original cable for 100.00. What is your experience? Did silver make the TH900 more bright?

Depends on the cable, I guess. I use Toxic cables Silver Poison on my TH 900 & HD 800. Does not make them brighter IMO.

In my experience silver has the tendency to clean up and reduce bass as well as extend highs and so could make them brighter.
Since I didn't have the need to alter both these properties in the TH900 I chose a quality copper cable.
Pretty happy with the Black Scorpion and to my ears it is a nice and easily audible imporvement over the stock cable.

Double helix has a fusion copper and silver litz for best of both worlds. Lets face it cans like th900 or iem shure 846 need some quality copper to reach down low and rumble. Imo

The DHC silver reaches just as low as the copper on my TH900's.  I have both and the silver is more resolving than the copper.  Don't get me wrong the copper is very good but the silver is just that more resolving.

Well, differences can be stark. For instance the best use of material is moonstone treated pure cryosilver which removes the ringing completely (caused by erratic unstatic fluidity of particles) because it treats the whole fluidity issue like the "graetz problem".
