Careful not to blow out a driver...
that's a nice rig. damn they're sweet looking cans. not as much bass you say - what about the mids?
gotta find a way to compare to the w3000anv.
The TH-900s have more bass and treble energy...a bit "U" shaped, but much better than the D7000s. The W3000s have very seductive mids with a bit of a bass roll-of. Both are the best 2 closed headphones that I've heard. That said, I no longer own the W3000ANVs as I prefer the quicker and more spacious sounding TH-900s.
For me, I no longer own the LCD2 and 3 as I prefer the quicker and more spacious sounding TH-900s. Sounds like a shallow U unless I'm just used to a U signature. :| Nothing remotely close to a V though.
With the GS-XMK2, I get a slightly more spacious sound with my LCD-3s over the TH-900s (and both are pretty darn quick). Finding an amp for them is quite the task (more so than either the LCD-2 or TH-900s). Agreed, the "U" on the TH-900s is a shallow one and not a "V". I love my TH-900s as well.
I just didn't think it was worth it to me building an LCD3 rig as I could not afford it so I strayed away.
Weird when the sub bass is massive, the headphone itself starts vibrating lmao.
Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate headphones that can sound really good and not require a lot up front to fully hit their stride. The HD800s are amongst the most finicky that way (and the LCD-3s aren't too far off).
