Re breakin: mine just had no mids when I first got them.

I can pretty easily hear electrical interference/noise. Depends on the amp but they are certainly harsher if there's noise around (during the day).

Those bed sheets make me want to watch some bad porn

I posted in the HTC ONE thread I just tried the TH900 with my HTC ONE for giggles - using an app called poweramp & FLAC files surprised at how good the ONE sounds as a source/amp. The DAC chip certainly extracts some serious detail. Such a versatile headphone and pretty amazing phone too.

Ditto with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with Neutron Player. This is the only full size high end headphone that can sound weighty and detailed off a phone. Surprisingly decent volume too. With a bit of EQ on Neutron you can even add a bit of that bass impact that you miss without amping.

Having demo'd every possible TOTL headphone in search of the best bass can for electronic music, the TH900 still easily takes the cake.

I tried HD800 for its soundstage, all the Audeze stuff for its famous bass, Ultrasone Sig Pro, Sig DJ, HE-6, HE-500, Grado, Denon, M-100 - you name it, I tried it. I tell you what, that LCD 3 bass was so disappointing. High quality, I quite liked it for jazz, but EDM? Planar = no. For me.

TH900 is simply the best for what it does. And it's comfortable and beautiful to boot!

You may have me starting to think about the TH900.  I want the sound of the Signature Pro with the comfort of my Denon D2000 or Pro900...............and the bass of the Pro900/Q40.  Think the TH900 is that and more?  Sounds like it checks off all the boxes..............except the only issue I had was (besides cost) the fragility of the build.

Yes, I've been  "reading" they solved the cup screw problems yet I know of at least two board members that have had the cups fall off.   I mean, really?  For $2K, with a known problem with the chassis (Denon D2/5/7K) they can't solve it completely?  If I get the TH900, it would be a 'stay at home' phone so maybe that's not an issue.

What about the TH600?  Is it the bass monster I want?  Sounds like you were after the same thing I want.

Totally agreed! I don't think the bass of LCD-2/3 is that awesome that people are praising, or they haven't heard the TH900 with trance, electronic...

Possibly, for those who listen to real music, with real instruments, the LCD-3 or HE-6 have the best bass of them all

TH600 won't cut it.

And make no mistake, the TH900 are not portable in any way. They are purely for home use.

I wouldn't worry about the build quality issues. Fostex has been very responsive.

Comfort? Can't be better. The bass is high quality and impactful. It is so high quality and unbloated that you don't realize how much bass you're getting sometimes. But it's much more impact than Audeze. The TH900 has a smidgeon more bass than the Sig Pro, but it's of higher quality. Better sub-bass authority. Soundstage, imaging both are on another level to me over the Sig Pro. The TH900 has that magical "lush" sound to it that the Sig Pro lacks. But the TH900 is still sharp as a tack.

The TH900 doesn't really replace the Sig Pro. The Sig Pro is portable, but more so transportable. The TH900 just shouldn't leave the house in my opinion.

It's my opinion the TH900 will tick all your boxes.
