Is the th900 gimbal-screw breaking issue as big as it is made out to be if said user is decently handy with diy repairs? And is the treble as bad as well?

A user over at reddit posted this picture of his preventive solution. I'll being doing the same thing when I get mine tomorrow.

I'll be using that trest track I posted to test the treble. However I'm going to most likely be using oratory1990 EQ anyways making the potential treble issue moot.

TH900 is such party pooper if you wanna buy and try new headphones, so merciless in A/B comparison, bright and very clean sounding yet sub-bass hits like truck. Really hard to go againts.
100%. Always end up coming back to the 900 (or even 600), no matter what I try.

Waiting on deliveries is one of the most difficult things for me to deal with too, I feel for you my friend. Hopefully they will arrive soon. I'm sure you will find that the wait is worth it in the long run. The TH9xx's are spectacular headphones.

Its more so that the longer it is in the custody of the amateur judo enthusiasts (AKA postal workers) the higher increase for damage.....then more waiting !😩 So when ETA do not work out it makes me wonder whats going on.

So, just bought the sapphire edition through Buyee. Hopefully this turns out alright. We'll see how this goes.

After this, I am done spending money on audio... for now. Want to go to a canjam and audition some planars and if none of those impress me, this will be my final set up.

Hope you get there, I haven’t spent money on audio for years now, no plans unless something revolutionary gets launched.

Lucky! Those sapphires are rare
I had to look through the internet quite a bit to find ANYONE who was selling them.

The only 2 places I could find that were were Australia (but that was domestic shipping only) and Japan (the one I bought).

There's an emerald green on ebay for $1400 in the US if you want to pick that up. (Edited to add location)
