FWIW I have further tweaked with Dekoni pads. These pads are indeed plush, comfortable, and they sound great! A tad warmer and rounder mids...sounds even better then before. Worth a look at if folks are looking for better quality pads. I am not sure how it will sound with stock cables but have seen quite a few folks did the same anyway so I reckon it works out fine as well. Cheers!

OK, so I just made another cable, and now I'm a little concerned about the pinouts of the headphone connectors. Seems Fostex and Senn switch the + and - pins, but folks here knew that. I made a couple of balanced cables and used the fostex pinouts. What happens if I try to use these cables with a Senn?

Sorry, what is the point of the fuzzy picture?
Sorry for the fuzzy picture. I dont have any camera skills. Was pointing out stock TH900 connectors to Senn connectors.

If you are using a phone, tap the thing you want in focus, let it focus, then take the picture.

Yes, we know the connectors are similar and mostly compatible. The concern is the pinoits. On the senn, the small pin is positive. On the fostex the large pin is positive. Using one cable on the other brand will reverse the polarity of the drivers. I'm pretty sure with speakers, that can produce a very poor stereo image.

Mine sounds as good as the stock.

Swapping headphone amps from G109-P to HPA RS 02, so for a few days I have to run from the headphone out on my Denon receiver while I wait for the new amp. I know that the TH-900 is "easy" to drive, but man does proper amplification really make a difference.
