Has anyone noticed that the search function of the forum is kind of faulty? I tried searching for "K340 mod", and any random thread containing either keywords show up: e.g. some result with just "mod" in the entirety, while some only has K340.

This is the same regardless of putting parenthesis over the words or not.

You need to connect them with a +. So search either by title or posts with: K340+mod

Another cool search function is the (,)--anything in one of your argument has to be in the results. For instance, if you're looking to see anything about Sennheiser 600, and people either type them as HD600 or HD 600. So search in titles: (HD600,600) cables -- for instance.

Since the 600 and 580 are similar you can also search: (HD600,HD580,600,580) cables -- to cover all topics that contain either argument with the (,) function.

I use the Google search box underneath the regular search box. Works like a charm, and you can use Google search parameters to tailor your results better.

Thanks for the info. Wish I'd known this earlier lol. In the past I'd make a search for hd600, and hd 600 seperately.

There is still something seriously wrong the the search function. Firstly, whatever you search for, it seems, that every single time, there will be exactly 999 or 1000 threads found.

Also, I will search for something, and many threads do not contain ANY of the words that I searched for. It was not like this before the outage.

Thanks! That's very helpful indeed.

Its only under the search box at the top (click the arrow), not forum search.

Another thing which I use quite often is the site: command.

Just go to google.com and type in site:head-fi.org then what you want to find. It works perfectly.
