For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Today, I am reaching Way back! For the first time since early December I am pulling out the CFA Cascades. Some of the most uncomfortable headphones ever made. I adjusted to them several years ago, using Dekoni Nuggets. They have since worn out and I replaced the nuggets today.
I am gonna start with the iFi Pro iCAN in solid state mode. No bass or 3D sound effects enabled. They are so easy to drive, they will always run in low gain and will never go past 9:00, unless I run into some very old Motown tracks.

I always say that these are an old favourite, but are they? I started listing my headphone usage in late 2023. Since I was posting in this thread every time anyway, it seemed logical to have a reference chart.

I tend to run each headphone for a week, on average. My collection is fluid, but hasn't dropped below nine in years.

Anyway, before today, I have only used these three times in eighteen months. Not really much of a favourite is it?

Just some food for thought from an obsessed HP boy.

PS: Today is just a playlist called 70's FM. Just all the rock that I grew up with. :L3000:

Ruviest Audio Prelude + Shanling M8T

Having a break at home and getting dinner before a extra shift at work, enjoying a album that got recced by a friend. Melodic prog rock, heard it on the car stereo earlier and deserve another listen now on something better.

WHOA! What a banger. It's lunch time and I haven't been to bed yet and this album has to partly take the blame. :L3000:

They're crazy good and such a fun listen. From a few things I've read it sounds like they're working on a new album and I'm stoked. Make sure you check out their other work (another LP and an intervening EP).

Dude, since I posted these guys not too long ago, I've been listening to their work almost daily. The growth between their first album and this one is also quite something. I hope they stick together for long enough that I/we can watch and hear them develop.

Topical Stuff:

Another day, another sesh. I'm rockin' the Hifiman Susvaras driven by my SMSL VMV P2 and Gustard R26. The Susvaras are perfect for the album I'm checkin' out this morning which is a release I've been really looking forward to. In other news, the room service at this hotel makes some delicious strawberry french toast. Just sayin'...🤤

Not too long ago I rec'd a couple singles released off a band named Soft Ffog's upcoming album. I had stumbled across the band's Bandcamp page and was immediately blown away by the sample tracks and I've been waiting for the album with eager anticipation ever since. Well, on Friday the full album dropped and I'm taking the opportunity to give it a spin with fresh ears this morning. I'm gonna let the music do it's own talking, but let me just say that this album is going on my Album of the Year contenders list. If proggy fusion sounds like something you'd enjoy, this album should be right up your alley. 🔥🔥😎

Another new discovery (for me), this album was absolutely outstanding from the Bokeh Closed (fed by a Gungnir MB and Bigger Ben). The warm, intimate vocals combined with cavernous bass really delighted the senses. I sat down only intending to listen to a few tracks and ended up listening to the album from beginning to end.

Qobuz (PC) --> Audirvana --> Schiit Bifrost 2/64 (NOS mode) --> Feliks Elise mk ii --> Meze 105.

Good evening/morning, everyone. I finally received my Sylvania 6SN7GTA Tall Boy tubes. They sound lush, syrupy, with wider soundstage. With the KT88 Gold Lion's I am running on the Elise ii, the sound is more akin to an analog recording than I had achieved before on any of my gear. I am smitten by the sound. Played a few albums earlier today (Booker Ervin and BB King). The music is ethereal and mellifluous. Happy listening everyone.

Morning session with Ruviest Prelude and Simgot Dew4x, the new album from Men I Trust on the menu. Maybe their best, an older vibe to it that's really nice. And as in usual style from them melodic and relaxing listen.
