For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Oddly enough, I'm already feeling a bit tired so it's time for some IEMs so I can lay down and zone out. The Oriolus Szalayis were calling my name the second I looked at them and I paired them with my A&K Kann Alpha.

On deck in my kick back queue is one of my favorite indie/post-punk albums from the early 00s, 2003's Logic Will Break Your Heart by The Stills. This album and Turn On The Bright Lights are basically the first two albums that jump to my mind when it comes to seminal albums in this genre from that time. Both are fantastic and share a common stripped down, under-produced style combined with the hollow, almost plaintive vocal style that defined a lot of the popular albums/bands to come. Both of these albums were fixtures in my CD player when I was in high school and, despite many changes in life and musical taste in the intervening years, they have remained mainstays for me to this day. This is pretty much as highly rec'd as they come from me. 🤘😎

This might be my last post before I conk out so I wish you all a good night or good day, depending on where you are.

I'm currently listening to the ZMF Verite closed but I also have the atticus and sennheiser ie 600. I wish I could use more open back headphones but sadly my environment is almost always noisy.
Verite Closed and Atticus are fantastic headphones. With the right headphone amplifiers and headphone cables, I forget that they are closed-back: such is the strength of their imaging and soundstaging.

Qobuz > roon > SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Sennheiser HD800S :L3000:

Free As The Wind (1976) by The Crusaders - Chilling out to some Crusaders while I slowly work through my local music collection, weeding out .mp3's for deletion and subsequent replacement by Qobuz favourites and hunting for .ape format files for conversion to FLAC as roon doesn't recognise them - I'm currently on the letter E after two nights of it, so quite a way to go. Really enjoying this album through the HD800S, lovely tone to the piano and Larry Carlton's guitar is smooth as silk - at least my ears are happy as I toil away.

Lakesongs of Elbid (2024) by Albion - Revisiting what is so far my album of 2024. It's the debut album of the new, British progsters Albion, led by vocalist, guitarist and flutist (flautist) Joe Parrish-James who until very recently was lead guitarist with Jethro Tull. Judging by the excellent flute playing he's learned some tricks from Ian Anderson or maybe it's the other way round as Joe is classically trained and has a degree in classical composition and arrangement. I love the way this album veers first one way and the next, from pomp rock to folk to metal to sea shanty, you have no chance of becoming bored as the music is just constantly changing. The HD800S really bring out the best in this album, it's so rich in fine details and they are all laid bare by the Sennys, so it's just as well that the album is superbly recorded with decent dynamic range.
Awesome stuff! I'm sold. Thanks'

I've been listening to a bunch of headphones this morning. Really vibing with the HD6XX, which never gets enough headtime. The reason for that is ZMF Atticus. Boy is it hard to put these down. :D
