Almost 45 years old and they are still my favorite. They are more detailed, faster and technically better than any HP I've ever owned. Timbre is amazing!
Their presentation is on par with anything I've listened to. Maybe, I just got Lucky and mine were blessed by the gods, but the synergy with the Luxman amp is a real treat to listen to.

The Yes Album (1971) by Yes - Had a first world problem, DSD version or Steven Wilson remix and the former won, so no EQ this time (I usually have a small low shelf filter to lift the bass on all cans). Have to say, out of the many, many times I've listened to this album (I had the original on release) Chris Squire's bass has never sounded better, the RS-1x make it so crisp and natural and shows what a genius he was. Loving how easy every detail is to pick out, the separation and imaging is really impressive. I'm currently listening to Steve Howe work miracles in the background on Starship Trooper, another musical genius. When it comes to prog-rock it doesn't get any better than the holy trinity of Yes albums - The Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge.

I've played all three of their classic trio of The Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge tonight and it certainly stands up alongside it's more famous siblings. In fact I think I would place it as equal best Yes studio album along side Fragile - I just think they slightly overcomplicated Close to the Edge, there's too much of a wall of sound and not enough space between the notes.

To me, The Yes Album has the best mix of expressiveness, prowess, technique of the ‘trio’. It has less / little of the “look what I (we) can do” syndrome.

I guess it says a lot that my three favourite songs on the Yessongs live album are all off The Yes Album
