It's sometimes more subtle than others, but Jada almost always makes her appearance.LMAO - I have looked at the album cover a few times today and it wasn't until I saw the red rose tattoo that I realised that Jada was photoshopped in - zero points for observation
*** and for cloying fare - the Carpenters, K-pop, etc - you should add these to round out the collection :JRiver Media Center > SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Grado RS-1x
Can't Buy A Thrill (1972) by Steely Dan - Today I am mostly wearing a BIG GRIN. My shiny new Grado RS-1x arrived at 10:30 this morning and I'm already on my third album. Started off with Led Zeppelin 1, followed by Pretzel Logic and now onto Can't Buy A Thrill. I'm really happy with the sound of these Grados right out of the box and my brain is now pretty much attuned to the new sound signature, so a very enjoyable weekend is planned, listening to a LOT of albums. The sound is quite different to the SR325x, there's a lot more detail, larger sound stage, better separation, clearer highs, just a pretty wonderful sound. The SR325x will be going nowhere, they will remain my default choice for AC/DC, Guns 'n' Roses, Aerosmith, etc., basically any hard hitting rock*** that has no interest in subtlety ***
Led Zeppelin I + Grado RS-1x is awe-inspiring.JRiver Media Center > SMSL SU9 > SMSL SH9 > Grado RS-1x

Liege & Lief (2010 SACD Remaster) by Fairport Convention - I'm approaching 30 hours on these now and they are sounding pretty amazing. So far the only album I've listened to that hasn't sounded wonderful has been Close to the Edge by Yes - it sounds better (smoother) on my DT1990's which are detailed but not as detailed as the RS-1x. The album I'm currently playing , Liege & Lief, must have been remastered with these (future) headphones in mind because it sounds perfect. Every instrument has it's place in the sound stage and it's even easy to pick out the different voices in the harmonies. Yep, I think I made my best audio purchase by far in getting these - long may they rein.
