Doing some listening at a decent hour this afternoon/evening to get in the mood. I have the Drop+DCA Aeon Closed X running off the Schiit Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding all the bits and pieces from my laptop.

On deck in my queue is Frequency Fall's 2003 effort entitled Volition. These guys are just a solid rock band with some prog leanings. Their music is always good for rockin' along to and for my drummers out there, it's great for practicing your heel-toe pedal technique as well (their drummer is a big fan). This particular piece is a 7 song short player that's perfect for squeezing in some listening time as you're preparing to leave and need to get in the right headspace for the evening's festivities which is precisely the position I find myself in. Someone once asked me what the purpose of EPs was especially if most of the material is just gonna be rereleased on an LP eventually anyways. There are several answers, but I like to think that the need to feed your music addiction in a time crunch situation was definitely a major inspiration lol!

Nice, you finally swapped the grills! You'll receive your invitation to the cool kids clud shortly... Seriously though, I don't think the difference is as big as with the HE400 series headphones, but it really adds that last bit of sharpness and air that completes an already great headphone, dont you think?

Yes, it does. But they looked better on the HE400i. I will probably order another pair for them though.

FWIW, I have black on my v1.1s. right now. I have the bare metal on the OG HE400s I just got, but I'm thinking I need to pick a different color for them too. I just don't know which...

I had actually discussed with Art having him make me a couple pairs with a color on one side and bare metal on the other with a clear coat over the whole thing. I'm thinking now might be a great time to order a couple pairs that way to experiment with.
