For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Two questions: 1) Do you think they argued about who got to do which hand sign before they posed for the pic? 2) Is the dude on the far left wearing a wig?

I saw Skorpions in Minsk in the late 90s when I was visiting for a summer. It's legit crazy how popular these guys are in the former Soviet countries. The show was in soccer stadium and the place was packed!
LOL, I think they wanted to play rock paper scissors and decided to add a couple more hand gestures, and felt no need for paper as they are transparent with each other: what you see is what you get... I don't think it's a wig, probably hair extensions

They do sound pretty good for old rockers!

If my wife had her way, I'd be looking like one of those guys, I can't get her to forget about my lush' locks from the early days of our love affair...

I was asking about the MEST because I tried the MkIIs and they're certainly a good pair of IEMs, but I had a few things I wasn't in love with about them, so to speak. Based on comparisons I have seen between the two, it sounds like I would likely prefer the OG version better. I think I'll probably grab a used pair at some point to see if they fit the bill. I'm glad you said the OGs are more holographic because height and depth, or not enough of it, were one of my niggles regarding the MkIIs.
Good luck hunting the OG. Hope you will enjoy!
PS: When I said I heard the OG has better holographic presentation, I meant heard from the internet, not compared by myself. Hope that didn't mislead you.

Everything I know about the road I learned from 200 Motels.

You guys are making me feel very old. I first bought both of these albums at Korvettes in ~1975 for $2.99. Along with a few others like Aqualung and Zeppelin II, the very definition of Classic Rock.

One of my long time references - it really doesn’t get much better. My copy is pressed on that special see-through (not clear - it looks black, but if you hold it up to the light, it’s translucent) vinyl that ecm used in the 1980’s. Great music, superb recording. 👍🏼 They did a live follow up album a couple years later. Earlier, Circle Paris, a little more experimental, different personnel (except Chick Corea), but in the same vein if you enjoy this. Also on ecm. Great playing.

My new friends are a bad influence - feeding my already miserable insomnia. Up all night listening to my new LCD-3, which arrived today (Monday) and I am just listening passively while trying to get their measure. So far - delicious! Exactly what I had hoped they’d be, but way too soon to make any more explicit observations.

Right now, I’m playing one of a plethora of posthumous releases featuring the extraordinarily gifted, versatile and prolifically recorded John Abercrombie, who I saw live at the Bottom Line in NYC in the late 70’s - after Timeless, the album with Jan Hammer and Jack deJohnette, came out, IIRC.

WOW $2.99 in ~1975! Witnessing the debut of legendary recordings must be very exciting!

Up until she died in 2004 my grandmother still had a fully functioning Edison gramophone that she would spin old school shellac 78s with opera, classical, and such. I used to try to convince her to let me get her a newer, better system, but she was having none of it lol! 😂

Very interesting!
She didn't want to spend too much money, or simply prefer the analog sound?

Can't believe this is from 1956, sounds so clean!
