[CBS / Columbia: January, 1975.] Absolutely one of Wayne Shorter’s finest recordings: the compositions & music are stunning. A richness from the melding of northern & southern hemispheres. If music with adventurousness & sexiness intrigues you, a listen is mandatory!! Oh, is the DT880 (600 ohm) ever the headphone for this album 🤪!!

Currently working away at home, initially with my Elegia, but then swapped to my Hyland after my partner tried to get my attention.

The HE560 v1 (grill mod) is certainly a very versatile headphone. A jack of all trades, but yet it's master of none. In the end, they never seem to disappoint. Just pure enjoyment when driven with enough power. ☺️ It makes them a very competent contender amongst some other great competitors.

Got a new toy today, the Quad ERA-1 planar headphones. Nice sound and a Giant headband. :relaxed:

One Of These Nights (1975) by Eagles - They made a conscious effort with this album to move away from the country sound of their first three albums for a rocker feel. As a result of the change, it was the last album to feature the original lineup (plus Don Felder), Bernie Leadon quit as he wanted to stay with country music, it also became their first number one album. It's a fairly light sounding album and the HE400i matches it really well with their light and airy signature.

K702:

I'm not sure if it's just my ears this morning or if this is some of the best use of space I've heard in a track recently. I'm used to hearing lots of width and sometimes lots of depth with the K702 but this seems to have a good amount of height variety to it too and I feel like I'm surrounded by music in literally every direction. Definitely going to listen to the rest of the album this is from after this is done.

Edit: Okay, if anyone decides to do as I did and listen to the rest of the album, turn the volume down or prepare for your ear drums to be blown out by some nasty distortion in track #1 (the track I linked is fine, but track #1 from the album it's on made me think I blew out the driver in my K702s or my amp was dying - wasn't until I tried a different amp and my CAL! that I realised the track is just stupidly distorted in at least 3 separate parts).

Edit2: Onto my CAL! now with:
