461 Ocean Boulevard (1974) by Eric Clapton - The Grados are still dictating the music and tonight I reached for (in a virtual sense) some EC.
I admit it, I'm weak, I couldn't resist the £80 reduction on a brand new pair of Grado RS1X - can't wait for Friday now

@TDinCali amazing setup. Can I ask you about Weiss and Envy pairing? Could you share some details please?
It’s a bit early on the Envy since I received it this morning. So this is still burn-in time but it sounds real good. The Weiss sounds something in between my May Holo KTE and my Dave (when I had it), the Weiss has better attack, imaging and texture in the bass compared to the May. The Envy is surprisingly powerful. It slams hard but the new tubes are just not there yet compared to my Woo WA33. The woo sounds smoother, no harshness in the treble, and has tighter bass. The imaging is more precise over the Envy but I suspect the new tubes on the Ency have a lot to do with it. It probably needs at least 20 hours.

@TDinCali thank you. You need to give those tube time. 20 hours may not be enought from my expirence but the sound will change and will be more smoother and open, more air could also be introduced. Keep listening :)

New Brainwavz Sheepskin Leather round pads on the k240 DF.
Adds a wonderful sense of space for sounds to develop in. To me it's an improvement, whether it's closer to stock, or not.

The various synths and percussion on 'Nothing' sound great.

I have Feliks Euforia EVO and I was considering Meze Elite as upgrade to my current mm-500. MM's are great for electronic music especially in the sub-bass region, I am listening to Artbat among other stuff and lots drum and bass. I am usually raising about 4db under 100Hz to accentuate it a little, but I was wandering how are Elites with electronic music? Are you using EQ with them?

Listening to this magnificent album, but I have a question for you jazz afficinados...on track 7, you look good to me, the bass player uses the bow at the start and end of the track and it sounds brilliant! Any other examples of this in jazz as I want more !!!

In this particular chain I cannot use an EQ.

I’m my opinion the Elites are very good with electronic music. It has a wide stage, has a slightly warm timbre so it reduces some of the midrange and treble harshness that certain electronic tracks can have but it has a bit of sparkle on top so it sounds airy/expansive.

I’m not great with describing audible impressions. Sorry.

Trying out a new stack. Much better than expected, looks very much like i'll have to find a new home for my Burson C3R. Especially bass and dynamics are on a different level.

44 Minutes. This album gets better every time I listen to it. :L3000: Progressive fashion, plenty of saxophone 🎷 mixed in with some simply amazing guitar 🎸 leads. These guys are very talented musicians, to say the least. It doesn't get much better than this for my tastes. 🤩 The details coming from the K340's shine with this type of music.
