Probably no long introduction is necessary. Superb album by two jazz masters. Both musicians surely had a clear understanding of each other's style and timing. Some parts showed a beautiful lyricism and timing while other parts exhibited relaxzing and fluent intimacy with gentle refrain moments.

On the replica R10, Charlie's double bass sounded solid and buttery smooth. Keith's piano had a moderate upper treble sparkle albeit a little veiled (note: the album seems to be recorded this way to some extent). R10 did impress me in bass more than in piano. The level of reproducing acoustic bass in terms of weight, warmth, and physical sense of touch is noteworthy. I occasionally hear low notes were a little lighter to my liking but overall it's good enough for me to want to listen to the whole album again.

Can’t throw enough superlatives at this 1975 Soft Machine recording featuring the late, great Allan Holdsworth (RIP) on Guitar. Yes Guitar, with a capital G. If you enjoy guitar-based fusion, and understand that virtuoso guitarists do not always need to use a ton of pre-amp distortion (which covers a lot of flaws), then give this one a listen. Imho, the opening cut, Hazard Profile Pt.1, features some of the best guitar playing of one of the best electric guitarists of all time. There is also plenty of beautiful acoustic music on this album, but that’s the sideshow. Loud volume and chemical enhancement recommended (but not required). This is a German pressing purchased new in the late 1970’s. I hope you’ll give it a go.

Having a break with my favorite earbuds, the Ucotech ES-P1s, plugged into the $50 wonder known as the VE Megatron being fed some bit-perfect bluesy goodness from UAPP/my phone in the form of Gov't Mule's release entitled Heavy Load Blues: Deluxe Edition. Why the deluxe edition specifically, you ask? Because once you start listening to the Mule you don't want to stop. Especially when you just need to kick it low key for a sec and relax...
