For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Late night jazz sesh with the last stogey, should probably switch it to some blues.

Tidal > DX7 Pro+ > Empy II's

Song at the moment : Autumn Leaves - Cannonball Adderley
https://tidal.com/browse/track/149299?u
That is the definitive rendition of Autumn Leaves! The album Somethin' Else! indeed lives up to its title. Plus, it's the only record / session where Miles Davis is credited as a sideman .... (contractual restriction from Columbia Records).
+1 for Autum Leaves on Something Else (also one of my favorite albums) but I'm also a huge fan of Rachelle Ferrell's live vocal version. Man does she hit some notes there. This off her album First Instrument...

The first time I heard Autumn Leaves was from that album.

Starting off this morning on the Hifiman HE560 V1.1s and HE6se V1s. I'm swapping back and forth doing comparisons on some things so I can wrap up my thoughts on it for my buddy. I'm running them off the SMSL VMV P2 and Gustard R26 and both are sounding great this morning. I think in the scheme of things and perhaps in part because the HE6se models exist the HE560s are quite overlooked. You can get them for a pittance and they do so much very well.

Up first today are actually two EPs from Kjjjjjjjjj (that's nine Js and it's kind of annoying): S/T (rel. 2016) and Bi Won (rel. Apr. 2025). Some of you may remember me recommending this band and their self-titled EP a few months back when I was listening to a bunch of math rock. At the time, it was their only release and there was no indication more was coming after 8 years of silence from them. Well, imagine my surprise when I got an email from them through Bandcamp notifying me of a new release earlier this month. I somehow managed to overlook listening to it until this morning. So far it seems to be a more mature and introspective work with more of a proggy feel that the nore heavily math rock influenced debut (though there are certainly plenty mathy passages). I think it very much sounds like a new work tempered by 8 years of growing up and maturing as people and musicians. 🤘😎

i would also say that it's possibly some of miles' most beauitiful playing. his improvising lives in the melody and you can hear the room shut up and listen when he plays.

I'm listening on the Dita Perpetua driven by my Cayin N8ii. I was looking for something completely different than what I've been listening to musically and based on the kind of stuff I was looking for, I figured the beautiful musicality and accurate timbre and tone of the Perpetua would be a fantastic pick.

In looking for something different I happened to be scanning my Matador Records April releases newsletter email and the new Julien Baker & Torres release, Send a Prayer My Way, caught my eye. My wife played a performance of one of their songs for me that they did on Jimmy Fallon's show because she dug it so much and I loved it. It's got a very old school, classic country vibe with modern production and a bit of an indie rock lyrical twist that I think does a great job updating that sound for a 21st century album. The two trade off handling lead and backup vocal duties and both are great, each with their own unique stamp on the performance. Baker's are sweeter and more gentle and Torres' have her signature smokiness with a touch of grit. I'm about halfway through the album and I'm thoroughly impressed. I'm thinking I'm gonna need to snag this one on vinyl and I'm certain I need to hear it on my speaker setup when I make it home. This would sound incredible on the Focal Kanta No 3s. This is definitely worth a spin! 🔥😎

Edit: Off the Wagon and The Only Marble I've Got Left are so damn good!
