For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

As I mentioned before, I had several new gear deliveries show up at home in my absence and I've already started opening them up. Up first on my new gear trial runs is the Meze Liric II and I'll still be using the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos and Holo May KTE signal chain for the occasion.

On deck in my queue is God Is An Astronaut's 2013 effort, Origins. These guys are one of several bands whose discography I've been reviewing as part of some research (so to speak) that I'm doing for a project I'm working on and I've been enjoying every minute of it. Time to see what the Liric IIs can do! 👍🤘😎

Edit: The Liric IIs are very comfy and very plush/premium feeling and so far I'm really diggin' the tuning. The changes from the OG Lirics are apparent and they definitely improve the performance.

This band you're in isn't the Rolling Stones by any chance? With the unbelievable amount of gear you've got and the fortune it costs it has to be someone pretty major - give us a clue?

The Courage To Be (2018) by Lux Terminus - Never heard of them before tonight, @YtseJamer recommended their new single and when I ran a search I discovered they released an album six years ago. It's very good, it's on the jazzier side of prog-rock and there is obviously some talent involved, hopefully they will have a new album out in the near future. I discovered tonight just how hard the Aryas can slam with a 4.5db bass shelf filter in roon EQ and it's not just the bass, you can almost feel the impact of the drums, it's quite addictive.

Close, but not quite! 😉 As for the money, I'll just say that I have other economic ventures outside my band that have turned out very nicely (I sold some property to developers, own a few businesses, and have a couple patents that have paid off) and the last few years my music (both my band and songs written for other artists) has also made a pretty penny (particularly the last 18 months or so). I'm not gloriously wealthy or anything, but with a little luck and financial planning I shouldn't have to worry too much about my financial survival from here on out.

Topical Content:

I'm still on the Meze Liric IIs for now and I must say that I'm really enjoying them. I got rid of the DCA E3s because I ultimately preferred the Stealth's version of the DCA house sound, but the Liric IIs are an altogether different beast which is exactly what I was hoping for. Right now I'm gonna do a little experimentation with the signal chain so I kept the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos, but switched DACs to the Schiit Yggdrasil MIB.

Next up is Bear The Mammoth's 2018 album, Years Under Glass. I can't get enough of these guys lately. I just dig everything about their music and the energy they bring to it. Highly recommended! 🤘😎

Ignore me, I'm just envious but seriously, you seem to be a bit of a rarity - a rock musician with good business acumen, I tip my hat to you sir :)

ps. I'm giving the album a listen now

My girl won't be home until tomorrow which means I have some time to get reacquainted with my main rig and with some new gear that arrived in my absence. While I unpack the gear that came back with me and open some shipping boxes, I couldn't wait to get to listening. To kick things off I'm starting with my Audeze MM-500s running off the Ferrum Oor/Hypsos stack with the Holo May KTE decoding the USB out from my laptop.

First up in my queue is an album released in June that came up as a Bandcamp rec: Imbalance by Oily Steele. This was one of the album recs on the Intervals album I just listened to so I figured I'd give it a spin. 🤘😎

Ahhh, MM-500 finally on @JAnonymous5150 head :) I know you have been waiting for this moment quite for a while bro! Tell us how it sounds after all of this time :)

Now I am on the go so MM-500 are far away but I have Stellias with me.

Back into relaxed listening. No more comparo's or intense, analytical listening. Just going with the flow... :L3000:

Right from the first track it’s sounding incredible. I’ve ashamedly neglected the Pumpkins more recent offerings for the last 10 years or so, even though I was obsessed with them! Glad to be back. I know Corgan can be marmite but I find him fascinating nevertheless.

Yes… this album is hitting hard. 🤘
