After a solid week with the Symphonium Meteor, I'm gaining new perspectives on my other headphones by comparison. In particular, I'm newly recognizing just how much the "bass-to-treble delta" matters to the overall balance of a headphone.

Placelessness (2023), Chris Abrahams, Oren Ambarchi, Robbie Avenaim

Not to diminish the other two artists on the album, but multi-instrumentalist and composer Oren Ambarchi is always the star of any collaboration in which he takes part. I'm never sure how to label his music. Avant-jazz? Experimental chamber music? Ambient soundtracks to non-existent films? Great stuff.

I'm so lucky that I have a few new toys to test at the moment, but I'm having a hard time moving on from the HD600's on the Xduoo TA-26. Even the HE1000's aren't seeing much use these days 👀 If I want to listen to the HE1000's I need to start with them, because switching to them from the HD600, makes them sound odd in the timbre. Of course, they are way better at other things, but the tonality is hard to "un-hear" once you notice it.

Listening to Peter Gabriel's i/o album. Such a shame this one is so compressed, otherwise it would have technically fantastic, especially the Dark side Mix.
Musically I do like it quite a bit, though :)
