For those of us with multiple headphones, which ones are you listening with now?

Great album .... plus .... the 'Grado Fan Club!' motto for detachable h/p cables ....? 🤪

My "travel" setup: Tidal > ifi micro iDSD Signature > Focal Stellia

As some of you know I think 3 headphones achieve great synergy with micro iDSD Signature: Meze Advars, Audeze MM-500 and Focal Stellias. This particular album must sound very enjoyable with MM-500, but out of those 3 cans I think Stellias are the best fit: most transparent, detailed and neutral sounding headphones. Obviously the final fidelity is limited by micro iDSD capabilities but I have been fortunate enough to listen to this album on great speaker setup earlier today and I must say that Stellias are not that far away from it, considering the rest of my travel chain.

Really happy this came up today tbh, haven’t heard this album in years and have been needing to revisit Dylan.

The Ballad Of John Henry (2009) by Joe Bonamassa - It's a toss up whether my favourite JoBo album is this or Sloe Gin but I'm currently playing the title track of John Henry so we'll stick with this. The title track is one monster of a song, the guitar work is so, so powerful and his vocals are superb too and listening through the HD800S is just like being a few rows back from the centre of the stage - I know because that's where I was sat when I last saw him live. Next comes a stirring rendition of Sam Brown's Stop! Vocally he does a decent job of it but it doesn't scale the heights of Brown's version (nothing will ever touch that). Another favourite is Jockey Full Of Bourbon, a Tom Waits classic.
So far this evening I've listened to prog-rock, rock, prog-metal, blues-rock and even some classical and I'm still being blown away by just how good the HD800S makes everything sound - no misgivings over my purchase here, none at all, now I'm already planning on a Violectric V222, an Icon Audio HP8 and a R2R DAC further down the line - you can't take it with you after all
