The Room (2017) by Ostura - Thanks again to @YtseJamer for finding another hidden gem, this time from Lebanon (that's a new one). Described as cinematic/prog metal they certainly have an interesting sound, the vocalists intertwine effortlessly and there's very good use of the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra - They even have a guitar solo from Arjen Anthony Lucassen, though the main guitar is done by Marco Sfogli from PFM. The DT1990's are absolutely on fire with this album, from driving bass to some extraordinary female vocals (the male vocals are excellent too), they cover it all with absolute ease. This isn't my normal type of music but I'm really digging this.

Doing a little pre-sound check listening sesh while I do my stick and pedal warm-ups. I've got the 64Audio A18S (the IEMs I tend to use most often live) running off my A&K Kann Alpha.
At the top of the evening's queue is a 2017 release from The Omnific entitled Kismet. I think I have made my love for this band pretty clear over the year or so since I stumbled across them. They are one of my favorite instrumental acts in the progressive genre (and related sub genres). I can't wait for them to put out more material and according to an update I got from their email list they're working on another album as I type this. With this level of musical talent and high level execution, I'm stoked to see the direction their music takes as they continue to evolve as a band.

At first, I thought it was the band Kismet, but then I read it again and saw that the album's name is Kismet. The Omnific entitled Kismet
I wanted to write how Macedonians (Kismet) are talented in music...but then, the interesting thing is that "Omnific" and "Kismet" are Australia related
Cheers!

Yep. The Omnific are from Melbourne, Australia. I'd love to see them live some day so I've gotta plan a surfing and concert/show trip down there one of these days.

Mizar was a legendary band from Macedonia (Yugoslavia)...
KISMET debut in 1994 as an extension of the Macedonian cult band MIZAR who had huge succes in the Balkan's in the late 80's early 90's.
I wouldn't be surprised if Omnific made a tribute album to Kismet
Cheers!
