OK, I downloaded Foobar, and I got it up and running.

I have one major question:

How come it sounds WAY better than any other player (iTunes, Windows Media Player, the player that came with my X-Fi Xtreme Music)????

Hello,

A dumb question: how do I know if I need ASIO4ALL when using Foobar2000 v0.9.1 with the foo_out_asio.dll component? For example, I'm using an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile (I have other cards, but this is what I have connected to my desktop speakers) and everything seems to work as planned with and without ASIO4ALL. Is ASIO4ALL even necessary?

Thanks,
Bryan

EDIT: now that I think of it, I didn't see if Foobar2000 recognized the Audiophile as an ASIO output before installing ASIO4ALL (and I'm too lazy to uninstall it to see). Could this be the reason for using it?

When you look in the Foobar output settings, is there not an M-Audio ASIO option? Perhaps you can find it as an option on the installation disk.

I get my best results out of the EmuASIO or CreativeASIO with the asio plug in for foobar. They sound much better than ASIO4all to me.

... Thanks for the helpful response.

I checked later and it was there.

Thanks

Hmm, that's strange-- I can't get it working. When I want to add new ASIO virtual device, all I can see is the Revo 5.1 driver as the only available option

. Am I missing something?
