Definitely the bass boost because adds nice hit to the Stellia. Also Bluetooth.

Yup, we took our time to make Bluetooth as good as we could in such a small package.

Thanks for your feedback!

Forbidden words in Head-fi - Science, testing, logic

You've broken a taboo by using all three words.

@loregnum, you're now forever banned from this thread.........

Headfi is like Hogwarts. Stop trying to bring reason/logic into the world of imagination.... pfffffffff

The thing, science is an approximation of the real world. It is a model how people think the world might work. However some people have it the other way around and think science is the absolute truth.

I can already disprove "science" because Van Hull cables ($500) make my Chord Dave buzz with an external amplifier. If "science" measures no difference between cables, they need to start measuring things better.

This made my day :)

But in all seriousness, there has to be a reason why this cable makes you Chord DAC go buzzing. Faulty connections in that cable perhaps?

I don't think so, because I have other bad experiences with other Van Hull cables. Some people that I know really like Van Hull cables which is why I tried them, but they are not for me.

I have a Stellia on the way. My stable of headphones will be a Kennerton Wodan, Stellia and a Verite Open when Zach finishes it. I think they will compliment each other very well. I had a Utopia which really paired well with both of my amps (both tube) Primaluna Evo 300 Integrated and Auris Nirvana. I expect the same with the Stellia. This should be awesome!

All I can say is that one of our tech chaps has been using one of early VDH RCAs for years and he never said a bad word about them.

How come u decided to go with the Stellia, rather than the Verite Closed?

Because I love the Utopia and seriously love the look of the Stellia. I love the look of the Verite open but the closed looks rather boring to me. Sound wise both the VC and Stellia will be great and so looks and availability were the deciding factors.

What would the best portable DAP <$4000 be? I don't care about any features like streaming, bluetooth or whatever, if it can play music it's enough.

I listen to a lot of EDM/Techno/Trance and bass heavy music in general and I like a clean, strong bass kick without it being overpowered and still as neutral as possible if that makes sense. Wide, expansive soundstage and overall clarity is more important that extreme detail.

Alternatively I can get a DAC/AMP combo like Hugo 2 to drive them directly from my iphone/laptop.

Which would be the better option, get a better DAP or a DAC/AMP for my existing iphone/laptop?

there are better and worse cables and I do believe a TOTL HP deserves a top notch cable...but.....the cable aint as important as the HP by a long shot

Hey guys my Stellia came with the Questyle QPM dap and therefore came with this 4.4mm balanced instead of the 3.5mm with 1/4 inch adapter. I act have no use for this one as I bought the Stellia 2nd hand. I would be willing to trade it for the stock cable/adapter or a 1/4 cable.
