Focal Elegia - what do you think?

I had a similar thought the last time I listened to my Elegia. Then I hooked them up to my Cavalli Liquid Platinum and I remembered why I keep them around.
Focals do sound great on that amp! I loved my Elex's on it.

Well Gerkria headband protecter arrived. Seems to just about fit ok . £15. Saves me having to clean the soft micro fibre cover. On test for now .

It looks like it adds a whole new pad below the existing?! Does it change the way the fit?

Yes, I've gone from about 4 notches upto 6. But it will keep them clean. On test for now ....might even be OK for one of my grado if don't get on with it.

I'm interested in these but I've never heard a Focal headphone before, I'm struggling to find any headphones that people suggest these might sound similarly to to give me and idea, or do these really have their own sound?

The tuning is pretty unique for a closed back, in my experience. I'm sure others with far more experience can find a comp for you!

Does anyone here have any cable recommendations for elegia?
I like the Meze 4.4mm cables (especially the "silver" one if you can still find it). Lightweight and high quality.

I prefer 3.5 mm since I use Mojo 2 😅 is the cable for the other Focal lineup compatible too with elegia?

I do not know tbh. I just got mine today after ordering last week. I have to say, I like Elegia's mid-range a lot 🤩

I use the Hartaudio modular cable system to great effect IMHO.
I have that one for my HD700, and like it as well.

They really DO have a unique sound to them. There have been many comparisons to open back headphones, if that gives any hints. I cannot compare them to anything I have heard to this point, so you might have to search this thread for those that have.
