Focal Elegia - what do you think?

I bought a new balanced cable. The original cable has one Black ring on The duo 3.5 mm Jack.My new cable has two.Black rings. Will this work or damage my headphone or Dap?
Unless I'm wrong (it happens!), the original cable is not balanced. The new one appears to be, but your question begs another one; does your source (a DAP) have a balanced output? If not, then a balanced cable will not offer any benefits, although it should still work as a SE cable.

Corrections welcome. It's early and I'm still working my way through my first cuppa.

So, one end of your cable has four rings?

I do enjoy balanced out of my ZX300.

I’m guessing it’s TRRRS. I’ve never seen a TRRRRS cable! :)

Just to clear up some confusion (or maybe cause more lol) it doesn't matter if the dual 3.5mm connectors at the cup end are TRS or TS connectors, it only matters how they're wired. A cable maker can use TRS connectors at the cup end and they'll work fine as long as they're wired correctly (for instance only connecting the tip and sleeve and not using the ring at all).

If the hole fit… you must commit? Trying to make it rhyme!

New Elegia owner here. Anyone running it from tube amp? Otl or transformer coupled which sounds good with Elegia
came here to post about this as I just got my Woo Audio WA7 + WA7tp..... They sound A M A Z I N G, legit best version, the graininess is gone and the bass sounds.... right the Elegia is fantastic with Tubes IMO

Price dropped to $379, will it be a good complement to my Sundara and HE6SE V2?

What are you looking for? unless you are on tubes it's grainy with tight and light bass, mid forward, very close to the general sound signature of high performance headphones, on it's only it has more than enough technical performance probably 80-85% as the Clear's but it has the type of sound signature to accentuate the performance qualities, as in the bass is light because it's easier to make tighter, graininess etc... If you are looking for like harman or neutral bright not for you... if you have tubes the bass gets a little more smooth and hits better, the graininess is gone and you can still hear much of the technical performance but that extra edge is taken off... very good with tubes!

Thanks, I think I am going to pass. Not a good reason to buy since it is cheap. I only have a cheap tube preamp.
