Focal Elear and Utopia Review / Preview With Measurements - Head-Fi TV

a similar experience with me here:
I bought the Elear (a year after my desktop Utopia) to replace my Oppo PM-2 as the hps I take with me to work, and I quickly needed a short cable, so I ordered a cheap so called "silver" Chinese made cable through amazon, and been listening like this at work for a while.
Yesterday my lavricable arrived, been listening through it today at work, it is a world of difference with the Chinese silver cable, so much more definition, more slam, punch and soundstage...

It's true then right? That you get what you pay for? Unfortunately nothing is free in life. Sometimes low cost doesn't mean it's a good deal.

up to a point it is true, clearly crap is not going to sound very good but a good solid cable will give you 95% of the performance of a very expensive cable...IMHO....I bought a used Danacable and liked it but sold it due to the fact that I couldnt discern enough difference between it and a Moon Audio silver dragon cable which was simply much more convenient to use.....

I’m now a proud owner of Focal Utopia after Adorama’s last sale but now I’m thinking of returning and repurchasing from Moon-audio to get the 5yr warranty. Decisions decisions...

All I ask is you’re sitting down before I tell you. Sitting down yet? Ok $149 is what I’m told by the Focal boys.

Do you have them in stock? If not then when? Thanks...

I think it depends on price/quality of build. The Utopia is an investment when it comes to the price of any headphones, so its all relative. If it were a soft case I would think 100% differently about it though!!
