Flux Lab Acoustics FA-10, FA-10 Pro, FA-12, FCN-10 & FA-12s Amplifiers - Summit-Fi for the People?: Reviews, Impressions & Discussion

Does anyone have a comparison between Flux and Lake People/Violectric sound signature?
Depends, on what you compare. FA-10 is pretty warm and organic like the V222. FA-12 is more technical like the V340. Both brands make solid state amplifiers that sound very analogue and organic while keeping first rate technicalities. The Flux is (was) more affordable.

as a single amp it looks really cool, both design wise and in features. A Volot Jr.! Nice.

But what's with this sync mode to make it essentially 'quad mono' - who needs that? electrostat users? who needs two dual mono amps per ear?

Maybe for really difficult to drive headphones or the best possible quality. I don't yet know the power output of the amplifier.

Can we move the discussion to the new thread?

Today I received the FA-12, and turns out that the SE input only works with the SE output, which is kind of odd, and I wasn't expecting that.
so using my Qutest dac i would have to use adapters in to balanced input. have i got this right?

maybe i am too "hung up" on the idea of moving over to balanced headphones.
i am searching for a balanced ss amp to replace my violectric v200 and flux labs are interesting me (among many others) with thier FA-10 and 12.

from Flux website the output power quoted for the FA-10 (not pro) is

300Ohm: 1.7W RMS per channel, 32Ohm: 16W RMS per channel, 600Ohm: 1W RMS per channel

is this for the xlr and se outputs or am i missing something?

First thing you have to do is to contact them asking about remaining stock, if any.
BTW, FA-10 is not balanced.
