Well that's not a vote of confidence from an owner

But I must admit the competition is fierce. I was initially hoping that the Solar would end top 3 but upon closer inspection I might be content with top half..

Why do you think the Encore will end so low?

I had the same with the Heir 8.A. If you dissect the separate components analytically it falls apart. Lack of detail, too slow, etc. But its signature was unique and really great - but only for a handful of genres (not to say that's the case with the encore obviously).

Wow, really? I had a chance to audition Heir 8A (yes, my ears are universally flexible) and I wouldn't call it too slow or lacking in details

Fair enough.. To my ears, the thick, warm and very beautiful midrange tended to drown out detail. More syrupy - as such it was not detail-oriented at all. Treble was pushed back, and very laidback - it could not keep up with fast guitars. I felt the 8.A's comfort zone lies in 'big' sounds; slow-paced electric guitars, male vocals.

Can't wait to hear your impressions on the Apollo X and Solar! You know where this is going, right bro? :D

Lol. What happened to your RE1000 impulse?

Hi @jelt2359.

Have you auditioned the AAW A1D before? Just asking.

Oh wow...can't wait to hear your impression on them. Especially the VE5.

Same here. I have the A12 and while i love it as an allrounder I feel that I would love a specialist for voices next to it. I bought the HD 800 for this purpose but so far it doesn't satisfy me as much as the VE5 did when I tested it. Will test the VE5 again next week comparing it to the HD 800. I know this comparison isn't fair but I should be abled to choose a favorite between the two.

For high end customs, I am gunning for AAW W500 AHMorph and VE5, they're among the ones that I can - still - afford, since anything beyond MYR 10000 (About $2300) is out of my range for a CIEM. :frowning2:

Spiral ears se5 ultimate ( in the review ) is 7.5k ringgit.
Lime ears aether is 7k ringgit.
HUM audio Pristine stage monitor is 5.8k

They are all TOTL so you don't have to spend ard 10k ringgit for them. Can get the lime ears and HUM at music sanctuary in singapore and the prices I quote was direct from their website.

W500 is 4.6k ringgit from null audio.

So yea... just saying... it might not be as ex as you think?
Then again these prices are extremely expensive when you take into account the cost of living in malaysia. So every bit you save counts too
