I picked one of these up from a fellow headfier. Iroko 5/10.
There are a few similarities between these and the Grado PS*** series headphones. The bass is certainly interesting and bit addicting at least for certain types of heavier rock music. Anyone with these should check out Spirit Caravan for some seriously fat guitar. Not too shabby with EDM, but I feel I need a bigger soundstage for that.
Hey guys - a possible "Non Limited Edition version" purchase of the FA 11s got me researching this, and I've found you guys. I was happy to fork out the relatively small amount for the non LEs, but seeing you guys rave about the LEs almost made me not want to buy a Fostex 900 for another month or two and jump in with you guys.
The only thing stopping me is the Fostex is a sound I know I'll like, vs the FA11s which I've never heard. As much as I want to because it's limited.
And I listed the FA 11s based on your awesome reviews. As I don't own one, I was wondering you guys would be keen on jumping aboard and contributing? =)
Now I'm interested in these, but I see there is now two types of FA-011LE. A Japan version and another version? I cannot audition being in Newcastle, wondering if anyone eventually listens to both if they could tell me the differences.
I think he's talking about these: http://www.musicaacoustics.com/wp/headphones/fa-011/
Here's also an article about them in russian: http://appleinsider.ru/obzory-zheleza/obzor-naushnikov-fischer-audio-fa-011-limited-edition-japan.html
Looking at the pictures, they seem use a different plug. And if google translate is to trust, it seems that only 15 copies have been made and they've all been made/tuned by one guy. I do doubt though that they sound noticeably different from the "normal" limited edition.
