Seal is everything with these. If they don't sound good, chances are your seal isn't optimal enough.

On another note, I've just emailed them because my left monitor isn't putting out the treble tones consistently. At times it even distorts heavily and goes (almost) silent, like something you'd expect with a broken cable.

But I've tried my left monitor on my right cable plug and the same thing still occurs. I'm starting to think it must be something inside the housing.

Anyone care to guess what it could be?

are you using the original cable?

one question for all fischer amps iem users(esp. those who has electronic measurement equipments). are your cables(the 2 pin connector) the UE standard or CIEM standard? i found that the 2 pin connector of the original cable for the left piece having a different configuration comparing to a standard ciem 2pin connector. the ground pin and signal pin switched. the observasion is done when both colour dots of the original cable are facing outwards.

is it just me? if this is common, then they are using the ue standard. i sent mine for a reshell, i don't know if the connection of the left piece is switched back to the ciem convention.tayano

Hallo from Germany,

first I want to apologize for the Google translation. Unfortunately I am dyslexics and therefore can not write very well in English. But I Understand very much.

I own the 4s XB already at least one year. It suits me very well tonally. However, there is one thing that annoys me is currently increasing. In many songs the S-Sounds are very harsh. My question is, do I get the possibly with EQing and/or other hardware ( cable ) under control? If so, what EQ settings were recommended and which app or cable? Are recorded the 4s per LG v10 from Saturday. Today, I still use the IPhone 6.

For EQ : He would have to be classified as the last link in the chain. For example. Tidal > EQ > Output and not like the iPhone EQ > Tidal > Output. As I said, that are really cool 4s and wants to avoid giving a lot of money for a different from. Even though I 'm on the Westone UM50 Pro something sharp.

Thanks in advance and best regards .

Very good question. I wasn't aware that this was a thing.

To answer your previous question, I'm no longer using the original cable. The memory wire hurt my ears and the heatshrink on it came apart quickly. Because it was a flimsy cable overall, I went ahead a got a Westone 2 pin cable. It works excellent, at least it used to.

Cables won't change that imo. I personally hate sibilance and harshness in my phones, for that reason I only use foam tips with these FA-4E XB. When I use silicone tips the seal isn't great for me and the treble becomes a lot harsher.

EQ could help you out, it depends. What kind of tips are you using at the moment?

the westone and ue has different config for the left ear. i tried switching the pins and can't tell a difference at a rough listen. wonder if it really makes a difference for ba based iems or would it do some damage.

I see, learned something new there.

When you say switching the pins, you mean plug the 2 pin connector the other way around? I.E. instead of dot facing forward/outward, have them backward/inward. (Westone has the dot forward/backward.)

I haven't noticed anything about the socket. I asked them and they said they would keep the 2-pin. Anyway, I haven't noticed anything sonically (Does it even make a difference theoretically?).

exactly what i meant, but don't think this is causing your problem though.

same for me, "keep the 2-pin". but is it only keeping the connector? those companies has high request capacity and may just go the common ciem way and take it for granted.
I do not hear a difference. but the FLC designer confirmed that and urges the users to be extra careful when inserting the cable. maybe it has something to do with the shape of the diaphragm or something.

FYI

As far as im aware this is the standard arrangement, But im not 100% on that...

Top line for JH / Westone etc. Bottom line is TF10 / SF5 etc

I had used the silicone tips. Now I once tried the foamis. I think it's a little bit better. I think if I play something with the EQ, I had to get it under control. Which frequencies I had to intervene? The peak at 6 kHz reduce something ?

Somewhere between 5k and 10k. Depending on your EQ options, 6k is usually a good place to start. I would also encourage you, if you haven't yet, to try all of the foam tip sizes to get the best seal possible.

Ok, thx.

Ok, I've now ordered this and this Foamies . Let's see how they are. I orderd alsoa FiiO RC-UE2 cable ( only for the optics ). I become at the weekend a LG v10 and I will see with whitch combination I get the harchnes away. What Foamies can you recommend?

Those should be good and give you an idea of what works for you. I myself use the Comply T500 in medium which also came with my earphones. I like them a lot, but they wear out quickly for me. I use about 6 pairs a year, so I want to look for something else in the future.

Somewhere earlier in this thread there's some discussion and recommendations on tips, but I'm not sure which pages.

Let us know how it works out for you.

I think I've got a really good seal. I've switched to using silicone tips and the bass is more emphasised for me. However, I'm still not convinced on the sub bass region on some of my music. I end up turning up the volume to get a satisfying sub bass, but sometimes its too loud :/. Maybe it's because I only have full size cans (denon ahd-2000) to compare them to and the Yahama's which has some deep bass.

Overall though, I'm very happy with the earphone. Since I listen to lots of genres, I find it suits my needs very well. I find in general the bass is very good, especially bass guitar sounds excellent.
